Drudge has a screaming headline tonight linking to a WSJ article on a transfer of $400m to Iran in January 2016 that coincided with the release of US sailors captured by Iran. The payment was the first installment of an $11.9 billion agreement to reimburse Iran for arms purchased by the shah and never delivered after the Iranian revolution.
According to the WSJ, the $400m was paid at the time of the sailors release as a show of good faith.
Drudge, of course, is trying to make it look like Obama paid a ransom.
Expect Trump and the right wing to go nuts over this and claim Obama paid ransom.
